What is the most unique part of working at Pip Care?
The most unique part of working at Pip Care is being afforded the luxury of seeing the direct impact of our work on patients’ lives. Pip Care supports patients during an extremely stressful and vulnerable time – the months surrounding a major surgery. It has been uniquely rewarding to see how patients who work with Pip Care are better positioned both physically and mentally to tackle on this major life event.
What do you consider one of the biggest challenges in healthcare?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is the recent wave of disparate data and information sources generated from siloed technological innovation. How can we most seamlessly integrate the wealth of new data being collected and analyzed? The lack of interoperability and interconnectivity of new solutions can lead to errors and inefficiencies in diagnosis and treatment, care coordination, and also increase costs for the system as a whole.
What is one the biggest lessons that you’ve learned in your career so far?
In my career, I’ve worked in environments centered on individual contribution, and I’ve also worked in team environments with a shared, collective vision. Through these experiences I have learned that with a well-organized team, the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. At Pip Care, teamwork is essential because it allows us to leverage each other’s strengths, cover each other’s weaknesses, and support one another through the ups and downs of start-up life. I am a firm believer in the multiplying force of team.
